Note for Parents : Attendance & General Rules

  • It is important for children to be prompt to school and in attendance every day . If your child is unable to attend school, please call the office by 9:00am and state the child’s name, grade , who is making the call and a specific reason for the absence; such as sore throat, flu/cold, asthma, fever, doctor or dentist appointment, etc. The office is required to report the daily attendance to the Principal by 9:30 a.m. Please help us to keep your child(ren) safe by reporting your child’s absence promptly.
  • We want to work with you to help your child be successful in school. Because school attendance is a major factor of school success, we appreciate your support in maintaining regular school attendance. We also want to thank you for your cooperation in bringing in a note from the doctor/dentist and helping the children see how important good attendance is.
  • If it is necessary to pick your child up during school hours, please email or send a note to the school beforehand so that the teachers know about it. When you arrive at school to pick your child up, please collect the permission slip from the school office and show the same at the gate. The child will not be sent out from the school with drivers / or other relatives unless a written request is given by the parent to the school. A telephone call from the parents in this regard will not be accepted.

School attendance is vital, but not when it may jeopardize the health of others. Please keep your child at home if he/she shows any signs of illness. This will prevent the spread of disease and allow your child to recuperate more quickly.

Some signs of illness are
1. Restlessness at night
2. Rash
3. Fever (must be fever-free for 24 hours to come to school)
4. Nausea or vomiting
5. Runny nose
6. Red, watery eyes
7. Sneezing and coughing continuously
8. Flushed face
9. Sore throat
10. Headache
11. Facial swelling.
